Kudos on creating a very impressive 2D game engine! I've only begun my
planned project with it, but so far I've been nothing short of wow'd.
So far I was procrastinating on beginning my project because of the
annoying Direct3D gruntwork I was going to have to do, but HGE has
gotten my project off the ground, annoyance-free! Thanks for creating
this great product. :)

Hi HGE Team,
I have been a programmer for many years, but only in the simplistic
realms of BASIC, with not much power within my grasp. HGE has revolutionised
my programming experience!
Just as an example, I have been programming BASIC for 10 years, and I haven't
been able to complete the shooter I've been working on for months. With HGE
I began coding in under 10 minutes (with no C++ experience WHAT-SO-EVER!)
and I have completed my game two weeks into development!!

First, I would like to compliment you all on Haaf's Game Engine.
HGE is the easiest to use API I have ever come in contact with. Its
design is clean and extremely clear. I have only been a C++ programmer
for about a year-or-so, but I have done much exploring and learning and
can safely say I have not seen better software design. So, thank you,
and congratulations on creating a wonderful, and FREE, product for us
young programmers.

Hello! I want to thank you very much for HGE. It is the most friendly and convinient engine for game development
of all I ever seen.

I approached D3D once before and it took me forever to get one tetris piece rendered on the screen.
Just a plain piece. That slightly turned me away from game dev, and I went back to just playing games instead.
My friend told me about HGE, so I decided to give game dev a try again. I made a fully functional
Tetris in two days. Not only has HGE simplified the ugly D3D process, it has also taught me a lot
about 2D programming (sprites, textures, particles), words that I only understood because I heard
them so much among friends conversing.
I hope to learn more and make more original games in the future. For now, I will continue on my
Tetris clone until I feel anyone can play it.
Thanks Haaf, a very impressive job, you should feel fulfilled for fulfilling people's fulfillment
by developing games. Maladyetz (sp).

I would first like to thank you for such a wonderful
product especially since you allow free use for freely
distributed products. Thanks.

I've just been playing with HGE. At the moment, I'm only using Dev Cpp because
I don't want to buy a compiler just for learning purposes, but it was very easy
to set it up to use HGE and I'm just modifying the tutorials and I have to say
this is an excellent library and ridiculously easy to use so far. Many thanks,
Patrox, this seems to be exactly what I wanted, and I highly recommend other
Cpp newbies to give it a try.

I used your engine today and really i think you have done a great job.
I have been trying to find something that will help me develop a 2D game.
So far i tried 2 other, but i backed off because of Zero(none) nil, support!
It's really awful when you are trying to learn something and they don't give you information!!! Anyway.
I am not a lot into technical stuff. From what i noticed i was able to run your engine at no time!
really. You have very good and easy to follow instructions. well done.

I'm a decent programmer but I'm more interested in building games
than learning hardcore technology. I want speed and OO abilities
but the rest I would just as soon leave to other coders.
Hence, HGE is perfect for me.

Hi, first I would like to congratulate you on the sweet little library you
wrote, I find it very useful and easy to learn, and it seems to have good
performance and nice features for making 2D games fast.

- API and Class structure very well laid out.
- Very easy to use.
- Definitely an engine a programmer can easily get into.
- Rendering performance seems to be good enough for indie games.
- Low-level enough to give more control without adding overall complexity to the API.
- Excellent documentation. Very clear. It really helps.
